Radon, Is it in your home? – Not the most pleasant thought, but radon is more prevalent in Portland than one might think. Link to good information on what radon is, what it does, and which zip codes in Portland have more risk.
Home Inspections – American Society of Home Inspectors gives a virtual tour of a home inspection and typical problems that may be found in different areas of the home.
Oregon Real Estate Disclosure Pamphlet – Describes specific duties owed to clients and non-clients by Realtors, and the different types of “agency” existing in Oregon.
Portland Maps- Extremely handy site, shows lot and tax information, shows permits pulled on an address, close by parks, schools, transportation, etc…

Portland On Line- The City of Portland’s main website.
City of Portland, Development Services- Was work properly permitted in the home you’re contemplating purchasing? What kinds of remodels require a permit? Is the property zoned for how you intend to use it? Surprisingly, new owners may inherit violations of previous owners, so make inquiries here, or with the appropriate county.
Permits Protect- Research your contractor or tradesman’s license. Are they licensed and bonded, and in good standing?
