Lake Oswego Homes – Shaded Simplicity
I love to stroll the First Addition in the downtown area, and past some of the quaintest old homes in the city. It’s an easy walk to the farmers market to gather organic ingredients for the week’s cooking. Or duck into one of the very friendly boutiques to find that perfect gift for baby, or even better, oneself.
Along the Willamette River south of Portland is the lovely little community of Lake Oswego. This upscale residential area has many wonderful town homes and condos nestled among trees. Some real estate here dates back over a century and have been in families for generations. Schools are well regarded. Shopping and restaurants abound. And the downtown area is delightfully inviting. A blend of simplicity and sophistication.
Yes, there is indeed a lake here. It’s rather cozy in size and features interesting canals. Homes surround the lake. People boat on the lake and on the river year round. Just north of Lake Oswego is Tryon Creek State Park with almost 650 forested acres of trees, creeks and trails. It’s a great place to find “serenity in the city” and is home, of all thins, to many different species of birds. The seclusion of this sought after area is one reason many people choose to nest.
